In 2001, LANG launched research on language department Consortia in North America in order to identify the mandates and goals of such organizational infrastructures. In the process, many pertinent links to useful resources were found. LANG provides you here with a list of links related to some of these consortiums and their activities.

• UC Consortium’s language statistics: http://uccllt.ucdavis.edu/Stats/searchstats.cfm

• A presentation of the upcoming searchable Less Commonly Taught Languages database that will be hosted by UC Consortium: http://uccllt.ucdavis.edu/SI/

• An extensive database of pertinent links for language students and teachers hosted by the Language Learning Technology Center at Georgetown University:

In addition, LANG offers a multitude of resources to its members and students:

i. Access to multilingual information resources in language learning and teaching.
ii. Access to interactive, self-paced multimedia materials that can be tailored to individual needs.
iii. Assistance in the development of curricular materials, data bases, on-line assessment tools, research project opportunities and workshops on networking technologies and media communication.
iv. Access to a collection of data (statistical, scholarly, etc.) related to language learning and teaching for possible use by provincial and national bodies in the development of policies related to these fields of study.
